New Jersey lifts 40-year nuclear power moratorium

Lower Alloways Creek, N.J. (WPVI) -- New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill signed legislation that lifts a 40-year nuclear moratorium in the Garden State.

She signed the bill at the Salem Nuclear Power Plant on Wednesday.

Sherrill also launched a nuclear task force.

The legislation advances the state's pursuit of new nuclear energy, while lowering energy costs for New Jersey residents.
